In life, when there's something or someone that really means to you... you just can't simply give it up... not without a fight!

Stubborn Heart

December 28, 2007

I thought I finally got over it… finally moving on, and tried to left the past behind. I was wrong.

I saw her in the grocery the other day. Hmm actually I saw her three times that that day. First ,  as I was on my way to our cafe, I saw her in the tricycle. I think she saw me too. Then saw her twice in the mall in the afternoon.

It was about 4 PM. I wasn't feeling too good so I thought I'd step out of the office and get myself something to drink from the mall's grocery right in front. I couldn't decide what to buy… then I saw her. I thought I'd approach her as a friend at least… but as I get near her, my heart started to pump faster as faster. I stopped about a meter or two behind her. Thinking of what I would say…  I made a few steps closer. I stood right behind her, trying to get the words out of my mouth. But for a moment I felt my heart have risen and got stuck on my throat. I just stood there, looking at the beauty that once owned my heart. She's still as beautiful as ever… No. She's much prettier now.  I watched her read the information on the label of whatever product she is holding.  She didn't notice my presence yet.

"Merry Christmas!" I finally said.

She was startled. Smiled when she saw that it was me.

"How are you?" I asked.

"I'm ok", she replied.

I saw that she's got a new phone. "New phone, huh?"

I guess she's still surprised to see me there and couldn't reply but smile. I love seeing her smile though.

"Is it your off already? It's only 4 o'clock?" I continued.

"No," she finally replied. "I' m going back to the office after this. I'm just buying some toiletries so I can straight home after office."

"Ah". I wanted to continue talking with her, grab this rare chance to have a conversation with her again but she excused herself.

"I'll check something on that area." She said.

"Ok. Merry Christmas."

"Merry Christmas." She replied as she started to leave.

"It's nice to see you again." I told her. And left.

I went back to the cafe without buying anything. I just grabbed some of my notes and the source code of the program that I was debugging and went back to the mall and went to a coffee shop and got myself a cup of coffee while working there.

It would seem that I am being tested that afternoon. As I sat there, my Angel passed by with her mom. I called her attention and offered  to buy her a coffee or something. She said she was with her mother and they were on their way to the other mall.

Then after while, there she was again. The subject of this blog. On her way out and back to her office. She just smiled again and went on.
